A considered kitchen interior — Anchor Studio consultation
Anchor Studio · Dallas–Fort Worth

"We ask how a family lives, then give them a room that makes that life easier."

Most design engagements start with Pinterest boards and finish schedules. We start two steps before that — with the floor plan, the routine, and the things that actually break in kitchens and baths five years in.

What it is

One session.
Specific answers.

The Consultation is a focused, two-hour working session — either in your home or over a shared video screen — where we walk your space, ask targeted questions about how your household actually functions, and deliver a clear point of view on what to do next.

This is not a discovery call. It is not a soft pitch for a larger engagement. It is a paid, professional design session where we give you our honest assessment: what works, what is fighting you, what to fix first, and roughly what each fix will cost.

Within 48 hours you receive a written summary — room by room, specific and prioritized. You can take that document to any contractor, any designer, or to us for a follow-up engagement.

The session
During the session

We walk the space. We listen first.

Before we say anything, we ask questions. How does your household move in the morning? Where does homework actually happen? What has been bothering you about this room for years that you have stopped noticing?

Then we look — at traffic flow, storage, light, ceiling heights, existing infrastructure. We take notes, not photos for mood boards.

  • In-home or video — your choice
  • Up to three rooms per session
  • Questions about routine, storage, trades history
  • Honest assessment, not flattery
What's included

Everything you need to act.

The Consultation delivers four concrete outputs — not inspiration, not ideas, but specific, prioritized things you can hand to a contractor or use to plan your next year.

2-Hour Working Session
In your home or over video. We walk, we ask, we look at what is actually there — not what you wish were there.
Written Priority List
Room-by-room, specific, and ranked. What to do first, what to skip, what will make the biggest difference for how you live.
Preliminary budget guidance
Rough cost ranges for the items on your list. Not a quote — a reality check so you can plan without surprises.
Trade Guidance
Who you need to call, in what order. We tell you who to bring in first so you are not redoing work.

The deliverable
48 hours later

A document you can hand to anyone.

Within 48 hours of your session, you receive a written summary in your inbox. It is written in plain language — no design jargon, no mood board language — so you can share it with your partner, your contractor, or use it to get three bids.

It is yours to use however you like. There is no obligation to continue with Anchor Studio. The document is the product.

  • Room-by-room findings and priorities
  • Specific product or material recommendations
  • Sequencing — what to do in what order
  • Contractor-ready language for key items
How it works

From inquiry to document in five days.

We keep the process lean so you are not waiting weeks to get started.

01
You reach out

Tell us about your home, the rooms you want to focus on, and the rough challenge you are trying to solve. A short paragraph is enough — no questionnaire, no intake form.

Day 0
02
We confirm scope and schedule

We reply within one business day with any clarifying questions, a session date, and an invoice for the consultation fee. Payment confirms the session.

Day 1
03
The session

Two hours in your home or on video. We walk, we ask, we take detailed notes. We may ask to see the inside of your cabinets. That is normal — it is where design lives or dies.

Day 2–4
04
Written summary delivered

Within 48 hours of the session you receive your written document by email — organized by room, prioritized, and written so that anyone can act on it.

05
Optional: follow-on engagement

If you want to go further — into full design documentation or project management — we will discuss that after you have the document in hand. No pressure during the session itself.

Our point of view

Function first. Beauty follows.

We will not tell you your kitchen is beautiful if it is fighting you. We will not recommend a material because it is trending. We will tell you what will hold up, what your contractor can actually source, and what will still feel right in ten years.

That is our point of view on every consultation — and we do not soften it to make you feel good in the moment.

  • No trend-chasing
  • Buildable, sourceable recommendations
  • Honest feedback, even on decisions already made
  • Designed to last, not to photograph
Common questions

Answers before you ask.

Do I need to prepare anything before the session?

No. Do not clean, do not stage, do not buy anything. We want to see how the space actually looks and functions — messy drawers included. The mess is often where the problem is.

Can I use the written summary with another designer or contractor?

Yes. The document is yours. Take it to whomever you like. There is no obligation to work with Anchor Studio for any follow-on project.

What if I am not in the Dallas–Fort Worth area?

Video consultations are available for clients outside DFW. You walk us through your space on camera. It works well — we do it regularly for clients across Texas and beyond.

Does the consultation fee apply toward a larger project?

For Whole-Home Walk clients who move into a full renovation within 90 days, we credit the consultation fee toward the project. For other tiers, it is a standalone engagement.

How much detail does the written summary include?

Specific product categories, rough cost ranges, trade sequencing, and what to fix first. Enough to get three contractor bids or make a clear decision about where to spend.

How far out are you typically booked?

Usually one to three weeks for in-home sessions. Video consultations can often happen within the same week. Reach out and we will give you a current availability window.

"We had been stuck on our kitchen for two years — too many opinions, no clear path forward. After two hours with Anchor Studio we had a prioritized list, a rough number, and actually agreed on what to do. It was the best money we spent before the renovation."
